This year truly is the real advent of CCTV over IP. More solutions are led by the existance of IT infrastructure and it is now technically possible to convert traditional coaxial images over Ethernet using Codec solutions. This can dramatically reduce installation costs where practical cabling is inefficient.
We are at present doing a lot of research into this making sure that the right system solutions are in place as the advent of "web cams" turning into CCTV systems is relatively new. Whilst at present IP cameras do not have the full capabilities of a matrixed CCTV system, we believe it's only a matter of time before a true comparison can be made "head to head" between the systems. Watch this space....!
